The Jr Lancers program is a community based non-profit program. It is essential that we receive donations from sponsors within the community to help make our programs successful for the families involved. Donations go to help the kids in the form of equipment, jerseys, facility fees, referees, EMT, and many other expenses. Enrollments can cover the basics of the season, but we like to go above and beyond for our players to show them how much they mean to our community.
Another aspect of the Cordova Jr Lancers is we believe that the dream works when the team works. To help make the team work as smoothly as possible we believe that hard work on the field deserves recognition and recreation off the field. Part of our program is making sure that the players have a good relationship with their peers by organizing team events such as a weekly team dinner, or a mid-year team celebration at a skating rink or bowling alley. We want to show our players that there's more to being a team than just showing up to practice, there's real friendships and bonds to be found in sports. Extra events tend of allow players to get to know one another on a personal level, and foster those connections for growth. Donations often times go to finding new and unique ways to give our players those opportunities to connect. These are events and activities that we don't put on the description of a season, but if we can collect enough donations we'll make it happen.
