Fall Cheerleading Program Information
What to Expect From the Jr Lancers Cheerleading Program
We will offer cheerleaders a rich and full season of cheerleading beginning with cheer clinics in May and June. These lead up to our 4th of July parade routine that we perform walking down Coloma during the 4th of July parade in Rancho Cordova. After that we will begin practice in July. We'll have regular practice through November. When temperatures get cold out we go indoors in the nearby middle school and elementary school. Practice continues at these locations for as long as the players need it.
Events consist of sideline cheer, where cheerleaders will have an opportunity to perform their half-time routine. Both sides will be allowed 5 minutes to perform their routine. These are opportunities to showcase what they are learning, so it's important that players attend all the events.
To coordinate our season we use the TeamSideline phone application. This will have our schedule, a chat with the team, and a place to get information about upcoming events. We support our cheerleaders with a lot of funding from fireworks, sponsorships, and lots of fundraising activities. Please participate in your players activities so that we can make the season extra special for our players.
Important Dates
Registration for the fall season will open January 1st every year. Early enrollment is available until March 1st. The season begins in July and ends in November. We will have practice 4 days a week during the season . We have secured indoor locations with local schools in the Rancho Cordova community for appropriate spaces to practice and stunt when weather changes.
We offer a training camp, as well as a championship event. Clinics occur May-June at Mills Middle School and the championship events typically occur in November. The championship events can pave the way for our cheerleaders to qualify for regional and national competitions if parents want to participate.
Our program participates in the American Football League (AYF) Norcal football and cheer league. The league sets up our football games for our cheerleaders to cheer at. The AYF also offers an annual cheer competition where all the teams in the league compete against each other for a title.
Fall Season Preparation
To prepare for the Fall cheer season, your cheerleader needs to be enrolled by May. This will help us to get your cheerleader sized in their uniform and get ready for upcoming camps and the Fourth of July Parade in Rancho Cordova.
We hold training camps at Mills Middle School starting in May every year to get your cheerleader introduced to cheers and routines for games. We also start practicing for the routine that will be performed at the Rancho Cordova Fourth of July Parade. Lastly, JAMZ holds a training camp at a local high school that allows your cheerleader to get experience from professional cheerleaders.
Once your cheerleader is enrolled, we will reach out to you with opportunities to get uniform and shoe sizing. Fittings are usually held at Cordova High School in May.
