How It Works

It takes many hands to make our youth sports programs work, and for our kids to have the best experience possible. The key to our success, particularly on game days, are the parent volunteers that make the experience for our kids possible. To be sure that we have all our bases covered by volunteers, the Jr. Lancers organization will prepare a schedule for each week showing how their volunteer hours can contribute to our overall success of the league.

Scheduling jobs is the easiest way to roll those assignments out. Feel free to rearrange your responsibilities with your team parent, but we must have every job covered for the benefit of our kids. Assignments are listed on Signup Genius, the links are provided below for families to reference. Lists of shifts will also be provided to you via email once they are established. If you cannot make a shift it is your responsibility to reach out in a timely manner to the team parents and let them know so we can get coverage.

Please reach out if you cannot make your shift. During the enrollment process parents acknowledge that 5 hours of volunteer time would be provided to the organization, in addition to giving a $100 volunteer deposit that will be returned at the end of the season if volunteer requirements are satisfied. The FIRST time a shift is missed without sufficient notice, the volunteer deposit will be forfeit to the league. Subsequent missed shifts will result in your player being benched for the game. Once the shift begins, if no communications were had with team parents, no exceptions can be made.

Parent volunteers are a tremendous asset to our organization. We cannot do what we do for our kids without volunteer participation and support. Without our PAR recorders or chain gang volunteers we would have to forfeit our games before they even started. We appreciate our concession stand, ticket booth, facilities crews, and announcers for making the game that much more enjoyable. The heart of volunteer work is love and commitment, serving ones team and community is the best example we can give our children. Making sure that any child that wants to play can play is critical. That ideal begins and ends with the parent volunteers.
